About Me

If you have wondered over to my blog, you would probably like to know a little about me and if you have similar interests that might cause you to read my blog or become a follower.

I am married to the man of my dreams and have been for 17 years now. His name is David and we met at Sonic Drive-In of all places. We worked together and hit it off from the start. Family and friends alike were pretty pessimistic about us actually staying together considering we came from very different backgrounds and family dynamics, and the fact that we got married exactly one week after I graduated high school. We have managed to prove a lot of people wrong and are still happily married and in love!

We have two amazing children that make our lives complete. Colin is our oldest and 16 and Domenic is our youngest at 13. They couldn't be more different, but both make me so proud as their Mom and are my reason to work hard and get out of bed each day. Both of my  boys play football for the local school district, enjoy spending hours on their XBOX, and hanging out with friends.

Anyone who knows me personally knows that sitting still and being lazy aren't really in my repertoire. I can honestly say that from the time I was in high school I have always worked more than one job at a time, along with being involved in other activities or obligations. Currently, I have two jobs. I work full-time for the University of Missouri (MU) in Educare Project REACH program. I provide support and education as well as activity ideas, and resource materials to registered family home daycare programs, faith-based license-exempt programs, school programs, and summer camps that care for at least one child who receives state pay (subsidy). I love my job! It allows me to get my "Baby fix" without having anymore kids of my own. It also gives me the freedom to meet a lot of great people and feel that I am really making a difference. My other job is as an apartment manager. I have worked in this field for over six years and most days I enjoy it. Currently, I manage a 34 apartment complex that offers both low-income and market rate housing.

Both of my jobs keeps me very busy, in addition to being a mom and a wife. Like I said, I like to be busy! I decided that I would complicate life a little more when I went back to school for a second degree in 2013. I recently earned a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology in addition to the Bachelor's in Elementary Education that I received in 2005. I am currently working on my Master's in Counseling and realizing just how much harder it is to do online than the Bachelor's!

When I actually have a little bit of free time, I love to: read, spend hours taking pictures and advancing my photography skills, scrapbook, help my husband work on remodeling projects in our home, travel, watch movies, and spend genuine time with my husband and boys!

That's me in a nutshell!
